Happy St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day!!

Tuesday 17^th March is St. Patrick’s Day so we carried out some research to find out what it is all about, here is what we found.

*St. Patrick’s birth name was Maewyn.

*He wasn't  actually Irish, he is British.

*He was a patron saint of Ireland that brought Christianity to the country.

*According to legend, he used the three leaf clover (shamrock) to explain the Holy Trinity.

*He wanted the main colour of his celebration events to be blue, not green.

*He died on the 17^th March in the 5^th century.

*St. Patrick’s Day wasn’t an Irish public holiday until 1904.

KIWI CAN

Kiwi Can

Every Monday we start the week off with Kiwi Can. Today we learnt about active listening and positive communication.
One of the activities that we participated in was the instruction game.
One person from each group had to leave the room and get a list of instructions from Matua Joseph, then they had to repeat them back to their group, the group then had to follow what Matua Richard said. Some groups communicated better than others :)

It is important to actively listen so that you know what you are doing or have to do.
It is important to have positive communication, so that people trust you and can ask you questions when they aren't sure what to do.
