St. Patrick’s Day!!
Tuesday 17th March is St. Patrick’s Day so
we carried out some research to find out what it is all about, here is what we
found.
*St. Patrick’s birth name was Maewyn.
*He wasn't actually Irish, he is British.
*He was a patron saint of Ireland that brought Christianity
to the country.
*According to legend, he used the three leaf clover
(shamrock) to explain the Holy Trinity.
*He wanted the main colour of his celebration events
to be blue, not green.
*He died on the 17th March in the 5th
century.
*St. Patrick’s Day wasn’t an Irish public holiday
until 1904.
